Canadian Pacific Railway 1512-1652, 1688-1697 were GP9u locomotives. They were originally built by GMD as GP9 road switcher locomotives, and were substantially rebuilt by CP's Ogden Shops between 1980 and 1988.

All GP9u on the CP roster are now retired. Last operating unit was 8249 and was declared surplus in September 2015. * Nov. 2017 (Under Reserve): It was reported that some units have returned to service and were renumbered CP 2330-2395, but that info cannot be confirmed yet.

The locomotives had their front noses chopped along with many other appearance details change. The later rebuilds would receive upgraded 645 power assemblies.
