In the GT6 it is divided into two sections, one serving the front of the car, and one the rear. These are linked under the dash by a connector like this: The front loom looked like this, when removed (below left) and a new one as supplied by Autosparks is below right.

2022年12月23日 · On my GT6, I saw that wire section go down to the frame, run under the suspension and stay on the frame until the bonnet. The brand new, not cheap wire loom didn't have the alternator lines long enough to do that, so I had to extend them. There are fold over tabs on the frame for this.

I have just taken an original out of my 1973 GT6 Mk3 (which is undergoing a complete restoration) and I'm considering making a copy of it myself. I've done this with motorbike wiring looms before but the GT6 is much bigger, however the principle must be the same?

2024年1月5日 · Changing a loom is a big job, especially if the new loom is not identical. There is nothing wrong with the original wiring loom design and function if it is not asked to draw more current than originally designed for. When I rebuilt my MK4 I carefully unwrapped each part of the loom and replaced any over heated or damaged wires.
