EVERY soldier should have a GTC. Once more... EVERY SOLDIER should have a GTC. It should be part of in-processing every post and unit. This is most important when you need to go to a school. Nothing worse than a soldier with a reserved slot in a school that all of a sudden, 5 days before he’s supposed to leave, doesn’t have a goddamn GTC.

2022年10月28日 · You CAN use your GTC for all official travel expenses. Airfare, hotel, taxi, rental (if approved), dining enroute. At the end of the day, you have to pay it all back, so it's not like it's free money. Major PCS expenses will be compensated by the Army (flight, hotel) and you'll get some travel/relocation expenses paid to you. Best practice.

2022年4月7日 · I don't trust my GTC because it's managed by the government, but I'm the one liable for payments. For anything I don't have to use my GTC for (i.e., gas, meals), I don't. The government can pay it off months later, but you're the one on the hook for liabilities.

2023年5月12日 · Wait till you get your APO. Unless you can have someone in the states mail you the card when it arrives. When on rotation you shouldn’t need it unless going on TDY while on TDY.

2020年8月26日 · Personally I don't give a fuck about the food you eat, the tolls, luggage costs, or parking fees. Just so you know though the AO can pull (partially) your GOVTCC charges to verify your voucher which is why travelers are pushed to use the GOVTCC for all things. The AO can look at the charges to verify you arent trying to scam the Army.

2023年2月19日 · Whenever you do that you don't show up on the GTC report and your S3/4/8/SGM/whoever doesn't know there's a problem that needs to be addressed. You have 210 days before you need to pay off the GTC. With your personal card you only have 30 days and it accrues interest.

I was a GTC manager. Been out for awhile, I forgot the actual name for it. I would bounce my roster against the actual battalion roster about every other month, and make any adjustments necessary.
