The Prince R380 is a racing car built in 1965 by Prince Motor Company to compete in the Japanese Grand Prix. Following the merger of Prince Motor Company and Nissan Motors in 1966, the R380 was modified into the Nissan R380-II (also known as R380 Mk.II ).

2012款日产GT-R的VR38DETT发动机最大功率达到了390千瓦（530马力），最大扭矩613牛·米。以这个马力数，可以跟保时捷911 TurboS媲美。由于上两代的GT-R的 变速器 不能承受超过600牛·米的最大扭矩，日产对变速器再次强化。变速器现在能承受的最大扭矩是800牛·米。

The know-how for prototype race car "R380" was filled in an ordinary looking sedan body*. Mounted was the 4-valve DOHC engine re-engineered from the one for R380 to suit production cars. It made a debut and won at “JAF GP” in May 1969, 3 months after the rollout.

This is the first prototype race car in postwar Japan that was developed by Prince Motors, Ltd. to beat Porsche, the champion of the 2nd Japan Grand Prix in 1964. The chief engineer was Shin-ichiroSakurai (1929 -2011) who was famous for engineering Skyline generations.

关于视频提到的GR8型赛用发动机，它拥有约200ps的输出，最终型可以达到255ps的水平。原本这套机器搭载在王子R380当中。R380算是日本历史上第一台原型赛车。为什么要搞出这个玩意呢？其实跟保时捷有点关系。
