She sports a shiny paint job recently applied at the Battle Creek shops, including white tires and the tilted GTW herald on the tender.

Grand Trunk Western No. 8300 is the first of a batch of five P-5a class coal burning 0-8-0 switchers built in 1923 by Alco at its Schenectady, NY works for the Grand Trunk Western Railroad (#8300-#8304). It was built as a yard goat for the Grand Trunk Western railroad.

2016年6月1日 · Based on a USRA design, #8376 was built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1929, one of over seventy 0-8-0 switchers bought by the Grand Trunk Western for its Chicago-Detroit system. It weighs 215,150 lbs and has 51" drivers and 22" x 28" cylinders. Operating at a boiler pressure of 200 psi, it delivered 45,175 lbs tractive effort.

Forgotten & neglected this little switch locomotive has watched the world pass it by for over 20 years. Using the x-ray feature on my Camera enables you to see inside the Smokebox. In the 2005 the GTW 8374 was bought by an individual from Nebraska, he has plans to cosmetically restore her for display in his home state.

GTW 0-8-0 #8312 - Grand Trunk Western Nice stubby wheeled 0-8-0 built by Alco-Schenectady in 1924 as a class P-5-a member, builder # 65630. The loco worked the yards like here in Elsden (Chicago) until being scrapped in June, 1957.
