The Grand Trunk Western Railroad Company (reporting mark GTW) was an American subsidiary of the Grand Trunk Railway, later of the Canadian National Railway (reporting mark CN) operating in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio.

2004年10月20日 · This caboose of the Grand Trunk of Canada was of the 1894 design and was transferred to the Grand Trunk Western. Early car department records indicate that it was rebuilt in 1925. This all-wood caboose was used by the conductor as a rolling office, complete with desk and chair to prepare his paperwork.

This steel transfer caboose was converted from a boxcar by the GTW’s Port Huron, Michigan shops in 1975. It eventually was obtained by the Association of American Railroads and used at their Chicago test facility. In 1996, it was donated to Mid-Continent along with Alco S-1 diesel locomotive #7 and moved to North Freedom.

I'm going to take a stab that these photos were taken either in Durand (my best guess) or Wenona Yard in Bay City, given the presence of the D&M boxcar and those CPOX coal gons. If the cars in pictures 3 - 5 look like Santa Fe Waycars that's because Santa Fe sold a total of 40 cars to GTW between 1969 and 1971.
