On January 10, 2024, Glendale Unified School District (“GUSD”) reported to the California Attorney General’s Office they became aware of suspicious activity on their network on December 6, 2023. It is unclear exactly how long the cyberthieves had access to personal information on District servers, but it appears to be at least a month.

“On December 6th, 2023, GUSD detected a ransomware cybersecurity incident that impacted our systems,” district wrote. The district said it is still waiting for more information from cyber forensic experts to determine “what systems were impacted and how.”

They penetrated their network and copied everything and then encrypted their data. They have access to all private/confidential information. GUSD got hacked. You did not. You are not at risk.
