2025年1月29日 · Great Wall Motor (GWM) is preparing to launch a new luxury new energy vehicle brand called “Confidence Auto”. The new brand will be positioned higher than existing brands including Haval, WEY, Tank, and Ora, and is expected to compete directly with BYD’s Yangwang brand. GWM applied for the brand registration in May 2022.

Great Wall Motors has accused rival BYD of deliberately emitting pollutants in violation of emission standards. GWM issued a statement on Thursday saying that BYD's Qin and Song hybrids used atmospheric pressure fuel tanks and emitted pollutants directly violating the law. In response, BYD has threatened legal action.
