
6412 - Preserved British Steam Locomotives
6412 was restored and returned to steam at Buckfastleigh in early 2015. It is planned that it will spend the whole of the 2017 season at the Chinnor & Princess Risborough Railway. The locomotive was taken out of service at the end of 2024 for its ten-year overhaul

Some notes on the GWR 64xx class
This small class of 40 passenger Pannier tanks was built in several lots: 6400–6409 in 1932; 6410–6424 in 1934/5; 6425–6429 in 1935; 6430–6439 in 1937. At a total weight of 45½ tons, they were comfortably in the middle of the 'yellow' route category. All were autofitted, with screw reverse, and ATC.
Steam Locomotive Information
The ex GWR 64xx Class 0-6-0PT No. 6412, has now been withdrawn from service having come to the end of its 10 year boiler ticket and is now awaiting overhaul. No. 6412 had hauled its final trains at the South Devon Railway during their Winter Steam Gala earler in the year.
BR(W) steam loco livery 1948–64 - GWR
Prior to the availability of the first lion and wheel crests, some large Prairies were outshopped in unlined green, with GWR style numerals on their bufferbeams, and a small (2") white W under the cabside numberplate. The 'W' was applied between January and late March/early April 1948, and it is thought about 150 or so GWR engines received it.
