BR(W) steam loco livery 1948–64 - GWR
Prior to the availability of the first lion and wheel crests, some large Prairies were outshopped in unlined green, with GWR style numerals on their bufferbeams, and a small (2") white W under the cabside numberplate. The 'W' was applied between January and late March/early April 1948, and it is thought about 150 or so GWR engines received it.

2025年2月21日 · The loco started life on the Brecon and Merthyr Railway, class 45 no 50. It was absorbed into the GWR in 1922/23 as no 1670. It was rebuilt in Caerphilly in '35, and for some unknown reason got a Rhymney Rly R type boiler with a Belpaire firebox.

The 126 class 45s started at D11. These were uprated and modified versions of class 44, with the Sulzer 12LDA28B diesel engine and uprated Crompton Parkinson electrical equipment. The next series was the Class 46, numbered D138 - D193, outwardly similar to Class 45 they had Brush electrical equipment.

The Great Western Railway 4300 Class is a class of 2-6-0 (mogul) steam locomotives, designed by G.J. Churchward for mixed traffic duties. 342 were built from 1911–1932. In 1906 Churchward fitted a more powerful Standard No. 4 boiler to his successful 3100 Class 2-6-2T to create the GWR 3150 Class.

2020年6月23日 · Between 1951 and 1954 BR built 45 new trailers at Swindon to the design of F W Hawksworth, while in 1953 it fitted 14 ex-GWR '4575' Small Prairie tanks for autoworking. These engines mainly worked in South Wales, including on trains from Pyle to Porthcawl and from Porth to Maerdy.
