Panglao is a popular tourist destination in the Philippines and includes several small islands, such as Gak-ang, Pontod, and Balicasag and is close to Pamalican island. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 79,216.

Gak ang is a fisherman’s haven near Virgin Island. The current bifurcates here and attracts a lot of marine life. There is an impressive coral garden with lots of small fishes.
