Nov 1, 2020 · Once Swiss has launched you can remove the 2GB card and insert a larger card with game ISOs on it. Alternatively, having an SD2SP2 means you don't need to swap to a larger card, as it's already in the SP2 slot in the bottom of the console. The other no-mod method (not modding the Gamecube, at least) is to use a hacked save file to launch Swiss.

The preloaded card will have Swiss on it (it has to, that's just how the exploits work) so you put the newer version as boot.dol on the SD card in your SD2SP2 (or SDGecko). Although now that you've mentioned GC memory cards with SD card slots, there are a couple of those in the works:

Jul 22, 2016 · The SD Gecko should be inserted into Slot B of the Gamecube and you should try to make sure the SD card is properly seated in the Gecko. The Kingston card + micro adapter is the best bet. And you're correct in assuming that you don't need the SDLOADER.bin file.

May 21, 2022 · If your gamecube is the DOL-001 model, you can just simply buy an SD2SP2. It’s basically the SD card mod, but instead of soldering, you just plug it into your GameCubes serial port and install the Swiss software onto it. Your disc drive doesn’t have to be removed at all and will still be fully functional.

Sep 12, 2021 · So to use a hacked save to start homebrew you need to get the save file onto a real GC memory card. That usually means copying the file to the memory card from an SD card with the homebrew program GCMM. Problem is, you can't start GCMM and copy the file if your console isn't modded, so if all you have is a stock GC you're stuck.

Jan 19, 2022 · The GCLoader is the most straightforward way but it replaces the disc drive. Otherwise, as long as you have a way to load Swiss then you can also load from an SD card in an SDGecko or SD2SP2. As you're PAL, using Action Replay/SD Media Launcher is still a viable option as the PAL discs aren't ridiculously expensive.

May 27, 2022 · From what I've gathered the M.2 loader will be much faster than using SD cards, which would probably stop even the FMV stuttering the SD card adapters can experience. Not sure if it'll get around the issues with running streaming audio, memory card emulation and read speed emulation all at the same time though.
