Gamma Function - Desmos
This is a simple graph of the Gamma function, which is often used to interpolate the factorial function (examples are given above). In general: f(x)=(x-1)!

2025年2月3日 · In Desmos, this angle is calculated in radians within the interval (−π,π] (− π, π]. the distance between the origin and the complex value’s corresponding point. Try typing... computes the vector that is perpendicular to both input vectors and returns the z component. Note: to get the symbol ×, type the word ‘cross’.
Desmos Factorial function - Mathematics Stack Exchange
2022年4月6日 · On wikipedia there is an example of how you can approximate the Gamma function on the interval [1, 2] [1, 2], and then drop down (or go up) to any other value using xΓ(x) = Γ(x + 1) x Γ (x) = Γ (x + 1). Alternatively there are various integral formulae, and the Weierstrass and Euler product formulae. Ok so I think I found what it uses.
Gamma function, real and complex : r/desmos - Reddit
2020年10月22日 · I managed to graph the Gamma function for all real numbers and complex numbers in two separate graphs, using the original definitions of the functions without using the ! shorthand, which doesn't work out for complex graphing anyway.
Gamma function - Wikipedia
In mathematics, the gamma function (represented by Γ, capital Greek letter gamma) is the most common extension of the factorial function to complex numbers.
How did Lanczos find his approximation for the Gamma function?
2022年5月17日 · The Lanczos approximation gives a fixed-precision method for calculating the Gamma function. It is used in Desmos in their factorial function. According to this Wikipedia page, Lanczos derived his approximation of the Gamma function by rewriting its defining integral, $$\Gamma(z+1)=\int_0^{\infty}t^ze^{-t}dt$$ Into the following form:
Why does this Gamma function approximation fail?
2021年4月29日 · The gamma function is a common problem, as the expression you've written has enormous terms and tiny terms, which is a recipe for trouble. It is possible to rewrite your expression to get further. It's also very common to actually compute with the log of your expression and to take an exponential at the end to restore it. $\endgroup$
Finally, an unbroken Gamma function without the use of series ... - Reddit
2021年6月2日 · So although I'm still working on my main target, the log Gamma function, I was able to get the positive real part of it right so that I could apply it to the Gamma function, and finally, I now have a model that does not break along the central vertical line, does not use series approximations, and loads well within 5 minutes for me.
