Ford Escort and the Avenger (Hillman, Chrysler and then Talbot) are the first patrol cars I remember. My father was skipper i/c in a border 4 & 26 station which is now a 1&1 I believe. I remember a red patrol car in Bridgend or Burnfoot in the late 70's. The traffic cars were all white vauxhalls I think then.
