I used to use the garmin hard chest strap with my 230. It can be annoying to use the chest strap, can cause chafing, so I ended up getting a scosche rhythm24. Will never go back to the chest strap and haven't since last October. It's not 100% accurate but way better than the wrist optical I used to use in conjunction with the chest strap.

Noob here – Wanting to run a vivoactive 3, 5.0, off a polar Bluetooth chest strap (new battery installed). Settings/Sensors&Accessories/AddNew found the strap as HR 02.00.d0.22.00. Sees the device after exit and return. Removed and Added a couple of times. Now it toggles between Connected or Disconnected endlessly.
