GBW 315 was the last C430 built by Alco and the only one built without DB. The C430 was Alco s answer to EMD s GP-40 and GE s U-30B. Of course it was too little and too later for the builder as only 16 of the brutes were built. A surprising number of the 16 received second lives though and a few remain in service today in the Northeast.

GBW Engine # 315 was built by Alco in 1968 and was one of the last to be built before the company stoped domestic production. It has A 16 cylinder 3,000 hp moter.
