Oct 8, 2024 · GDDR7, similar to things like DDR5, is going to now offer 3 Gb modules, over the 1 Gb and 2 Gb available previously, that's why we now have 48GB and 96GB RAM kits. So it is potentially possible that if Nvidia uses 3 Gb modules on a 128-bit card like the 5060 that it could have 12GB instead of 8GB.

Jan 7, 2025 · GDDR7 is making a huge difference to memory bandwidth there, damn near 1TB/s bandwidth on a piddly 256 bit bus is wild. Real shame Sony didn't use it for the Pro as it would have been a huge upgrade and over time wouldn't have come with much additional cost either.

Oct 8, 2024 · Feels like the "400W", "600W" are just figures that let space for Super upclocking. Because AFAIK RDNA 5 is probably CES 2026 (RDNA 4 ain't going to live long) and they'll have 3GB GDDR7 Modules, doubt Jensen would just allow 5090 per gigabyte be heavily outclassed for the dollar by AMD and if RDNA 5 turns decent for ML somehow.
