Our GEF teams are made up of world-class topic experts, who leverage expertise from across UNEP’s subprogrammes in Climate Action, Nature Action, Chemicals and Pollution Action, Science-Policy, Environmental Governance, Finance and Economic Transformations, and Digital Transformations.

The GEF is an international partnership of 183 countries, international institutions, civil society organizations and the private sector that addresses global environmental issues.

We organize our work around five focal areas – biodiversity loss, chemicals and waste, climate change, international waters, and land degradation – and take an integrated approach to support more sustainable food systems, forest management, and cities.
