Just in general reading about hi-fi tube amps I get the impression that the KT88 is better regarded, and also in the many reviews I read of the Elekit before purchasing, most either say the stock EH 6L6GC's are "fine" or the reviewer doesn't even bother listening to them and goes right to the KT88/EL34/etc.

2019年6月16日 · I like modern KT77 tubes in medium power amps, but I have also had excellent success with KT88's in the PrimaLuna Prologue Five. In more powerful amps like my Rogue's I prefer the KT88's, because I want plenty of slam and dynamics. I prefer my M-150 monoblocks for their KT88 sound over the Cronus Magnum with the KT-120 power tubes.

2020年8月14日 · Myself prefer the JJ KT88’s vs the GL KT88’s by a wide margin. GL. sound thin and kinda lifeless. SS sounding. Eh… The JJ’s are musical dynamic with a magical midrange and superb bass, and excellent clarity. The have very good imaging, and wide soundstage. Compared to a Shuguang, not as much separation, but more dynamic.

2013年10月7日 · I have a pair of monos that use 4 tubes and tried a lot of KT88/6550 tubes (KR Audio, Genalex Gold Lion, EH, JJ, GE 6550 (1970) etc..) and once I heard the GEs, i had to sell everything else. So clean and pure with lots of timbre and vibrancy. If you have a Conrad Johnson amp, you should try the GEs. These are a must

2020年12月10日 · For the KT88, I’ve used Shuguang KT88 Black treasures (muddy midbass, rolled off highs), Shuguang Golden Voice KT88 (balanced bass/highs) sounds better. I would’ve got the Shuguang WEKT88, but a fire in China apparently cut of production. So, I have the Psvane KT88 TII on order. They’re supposed to be better than the GV KT88. Let’s see...
