Gérald Charles Genta (1 May 1931 – 17 August 2011) was a Swiss watchmaker and artist. He is known for his eponymous lines of timepieces, such as Gerald Genta and Gerald Charles, as well as his design work with other high-end watch manufacturers, including IWC, Omega, Universal Genève, Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet.

Founded in 1969 with a clear mission: creating extraordinary watches for extraordinary clients, Genta watches always come with rule-breaking aesthetic and impeccable mechanical credentials.

Shortly after launching his namesake brand, the Maestro came up with not only a perpetual calendar, but an automatic one. Showcasing signature design codes such as the so-Genta single-lug design, Gérald Genta solidified his reputation as a daring innovator.
