George William Odey CBE DL [1] (21 April 1900 – 16 October 1985) was a business leader in the United Kingdom leather tanning industry who held the post of chairman of the Barrow Hepburn Group from 1937 until 1974. [2] He was also a Conservative Party politician who served as a Member of Parliament (MP) from 1947 to 1955.

George Odey, the director of Barrow Hepburn and Gale since 1933, would be appointed a CBE for his company's contributions. [6] In 1967, there was a collapse in the world leather market, due in part to the demand for material caused by the Vietnam war.
