The British Rail Class 91 is a high-speed electric locomotive, which produces power of 4,830 kW (6,480 hp); it was ordered as a component of the East Coast Main Line modernisation and electrification programme of the late 1980s.

2020年2月26日 · After 91023 was released into traffic with its new identity in March 2002, it was not again involved in an accident. It remained on the ECML, working for National Express East Coast, East Coast, Virgin Trains East Coast and lastly LNER before its withdrawal.

Locomotive number 91023, was involved in both the Hatfield and Great Heck, Selby Rail crashes. After these events the locomotives number was considered unlucky or cursed by GNER drivers.

This has resulted in the renumbering of the fleet from 910XX to 911XX, with the exception of locomotive 91023, which had been involved in the rail crashes at Hatfield and Selby.

Thirty years on, these unique train sets are starting to run out of spare parts, and certain locomotives are being cannibalized to keep others running. Also, new Hitachi "Azuma" electric multiple units are replacing the earlier trains on the ECML. The images show class 91023 on the head end of a train at London Kings Cross.

The Locomotives were originally numbered 91001 to 91031, but were refurbished and renumbered by GNER in the 2000 and 2003 period, to become 91101 to 91131, with loco 91023 out of sequence taking the number 91132. 91019 was named 'Scottish Enterprise' at Edinburgh Waverley on 12th September 1990.
