Golbez uses a Crystal to try and turn the tide, but as he has lived a life of darkness he fails and Zeromus strikes them both down. Golbez gives the Crystal to Cecil, and he and his companions are able to use it to make Zeromus corporeal and defeat him.

2008年7月21日 · But with Wait 1 I was able to react quickly enough. Make sure you keep Rydia and Cecil alive with Hi-Potions or Cura. Sometimes you may need an Ether. Just keep them alive and cast Libra or use Bestiary every time Golbez changes his weakness and always use Rydia's Eidolons to attack Golbez since Fira, Blizara, and Thundara don't do much.

2009年6月6日 · Golbez was notably the first antagonist of the series to be telepathically controlled by another more malicious true villain, and was also the second villain to be a blood relative of the protagonist. Golbez is also known for his dramatic and foreboding theme music and was the first villain of the series to get his own theme.

To be honest, I was expecting a character from the previous game to die, but Golbez was redeemed and forgiven, even if it is an optional event. I was expecting someone else who already tried to make a sacrifice to step to the plate, like Cid or Yang. Golbez made me upset when it happened, but at least you can prevent it.

The best swords for Cecil for this fight are Sleep, Mythril, and the Stone sword, which is possible to get before you even go underground.

If you have it use a Hermes Sandel on Rydia to speed her up. Have Cecil on permanent healing duty and have rydia use Beastiary items on Golbez to learn his weakness, Then use the summon coresponding to that. Every time you damage him his weakness will change so repeat the above mentioned stratagy to slowly beat him down.

Per the height chart, Golbez is 8'2" (growing up in lower gravity might make you taller, but the flipside is weak musculature), Cecil is 6'3" despite officially being 5'10", and Shantotto is 2'7". In short: yes, Golbez does need to watch his step around the Warriors of Cosmos, although his shortest co-worker is 5'6" Kuja.

It actually makes a bit more sense though. After all, previously Golbez somehow died, but then his hand came back, and then somehow he was perfectly fine later. Now it's just a case of the good guys thinking the bad guy is dead, and walking off casually... only to of course, be surprised by the bad guy still being alive.
