Golgulsa (Korean: 골굴사; Hanja: 骨窟寺; lit. Stone Buddha Temple) is a Buddhist temple in Gyeongju, South Korea. It dates to the Silla period. Gogulsa was established on Mt. Hamwolsan, along with Girimsa, by Master Gwangyu and his retinue who came to Korea from India about 1,500 years ago.

Golgulsa temple has been widely acknowledged as the No.1 temple in Korea receiving the highest number of templestay participants. Golgulsa Temple is located amid the natural beauty of Hamwolsan Mountain, just outside of historic Gyeongju City. The temple runs Templestay programs 365 days a year, and it is possible to stay for a month or even longer.

2025年1月11日 · Golgulsa Temple is beautifully located right in nature, just outside of Gyeongju City. The temple is one of the only ones in Korea to practise Sunmudo training. It’s also the only stone cave temple in Korea with a unique Buddha carved into the rock. Their first overnight guests were back in 1992 when people were Sunmudo training on the weekend.

Buddhist Temple in Golgulsa is 12 miles east of Gyeongiu. In the Golgulsa temple area can be found the oldest historical Buddhist ruins on Mt. Hamwol and the only cave I stayed there in a Temple stay and put on their clothes and went to the activities there.

Golgulsa Temple is a temple located within the Hamwolsan Mountain, situated between Gyeongju City and the East Sea. With a history of over 1,500 years, it houses many Buddha statues preserved within its twelve grottoes.

2023年2月9日 · Golgulsa Temple, which means “Bone Cave Temple” in English, is located in eastern Gyeongju just down the road from Girimsa Temple. Golgulsa Temple was first built during the 6th century by the monk Gwangyu. Purportedly, the monk Gwangyu arrived back in Korea from India with some of his followers.

2025年3月4日 · Golgulsa is located an hour away by bus from the beautiful city of Gyeongju, on the Hamwolsan mountain. It dates to the Silla period and is the oldest grotto temple in South Korea. The whole complex is built on a slope dominated by an impressively large Buddha statue carved in a limestone cliff and has many other smaller statues and grottoes.
