Ging basically adviced him to not rush back into using his nen again (so soon after a dangerous contract) so gon is gonna meditate his way back to nen slowly this time

The chain you are mentioning, is a materialized and manipulated one, and takes into zetsu the ryodan's members. But he can also enhance any other part of his body.

But keep in mind that Gon is not vastly experienced in nen at the time he comes up with the move and as an enhancer it makes total sense that his instinct would be to create an attack like jajanken.

Gon having lost all his Nen is probably the catalyst to him gaining a new Nen type. From a storytelling perspective, Ultimate Gon appears to be a farewell to his Enhancer powers and his Jajanken. Him gaining a new Nen type could also be a way to show his change of heart, as he's already reached his goal of meeting his father.
