Goom is a fictional extraterrestrial created by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Dick Ayers, appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He first appeared in the anthology comic book Tales of Suspense #15 (March 1961) in the Silver Age of Comic Books .

The creature called Goom was an alien being from Planet X. Goom had various physical and mental powers as well as advanced technology. An astronomer named Mark Langley used powerful radar waves through a transmitter to look for any other planets in the solar system. He found a small blue planetoid behind Jupiter which he named Planet X. [1]

Googam is an alien child, the son of Goom from Planet X. A week after Goom's capture, Googam emerged from near where his father landed, and captured Mark Langley, the man who brought his father to Earth, and his family captive while his powers matured and grew.
