2011年5月15日 · The factory manual only gives info about the 1981 Gpz550 so that is the setting to start with. The 2.5 turns out for the pilot adjusting screw is for the A2 model and for my very clean carbs and new pilot jets that setting is causing the bike to run way too lean and to idle requiring the choke be partially closed.

2019年9月3日 · 1981 GPZ550 D1 - essentially the z550 with some minor styling tweaks and 3 more bhp. Bikini faring, disks front and rear. Twin shock. 1982 GPZ550 H1 -Bikini fairing first of the unitrack rear ends. Changed to 26mm CV carbs. 1983 GPZ 550 H2- not sure what the differences are between the H1 and H2 but others on this forum may know.

2005年5月21日 · The valve clearance on these engines is provided by shims located underneath the valve lifters. The inlet valves on the 550's should have about .004" to .008" and the exhaust .006" to .010" clearance.

2014年10月24日 · Because aftermarket exhaust systems are becoming harder to find, using different models and year systems, then modifying them to fit, is on my list. I have a complete 1985-1987 Kawasaki ZX600 Yoshimura System, and the exhaust ports have the same spacing as the GPz550 Head, so it will work there.

2014年7月28日 · I had an 81 back in the early 80s and it wasn't real fast. Seriously, if you are looking for fast, get a more modern 600 sportbike. I helped with prep on a GPz550 race bike a couple years back at mid-Ohio vintage race days and honestly, it was a slug even with pro mechanics working on it to try and make it a bit more zippy.

I have an old and degraded four into two exhaust on it, which I would like to replace, but want to keep four into two.

2020年5月9日 · Sold that bike before my 1st born arrived. I really miss riding. Fast forward 9yrs to present, my neighbor in his mid 60's asked me to help him out with moving some stuff in his garage. As the good man I am, I helped him out. In his garage, under a cloth sheet was black 1983 GPZ550. I was shocked. We got into good conversation about riding etc.
