2006年6月11日 · OS X apps use Unicode instead of the old Symbol font stuff that just replaced Latin by Greek. To make Greek letters, use the Character Palette (Edit > Special Characters) and go to the Greek Unicode block (0370 and up) and input from there. Or you can type with the Greek keyboard after you activate it in system prefs/international/input menu.

Then select Greek from the "flag" menu at the top right of the screen and type. 2021年3月1日 · I have just downloaded Pages from the App store. I need to use the symbol font for Greek letters in my teaching notes. When I select symbol font and type "a", I should get the alpha symbol but the usual "a" appears. I checked the font setting and the display shows all the Greek letters. I recommend you not use the Symbol font to type Greek.

2022年11月8日 · It's hard to imagine what would cause it other than a greek keyboard being accidentally activated (e.g. by hitting Fn/Globe, Capslock, or Control Space) or a "bible" greek font being accidentally being used for display. If Greek texts turn into English, that argues it's a font (real Greek created by a keyboard could not do that).

Go to the bottom right and look in the Font Variation pane. Select the one which has Arabic instead of Æ. Look up at the top to find the name of that font. Get rid of it.
