2014年3月2日 · Hi guys, I have 2011 i7 mbp 16 gig ram, but every once in a while when I am watching movies or videos using VLC it lags for second and than it show pixelated gray video for 5-6 seconds and it continues normally. This never happened to me on windows computer which is less powerful. What is solution for this problem. P.S. I am running latest VLC.

Fix: In VLC player, go to TOOLS, then PREFERENCES, then select INPUT/CODECS and disable any hardware accelerated decoding. Mine was set to direct3d11 and it would cause videos to pixelate for several seconds after pausing. Disabling hardware acceleration seemed to solve the problem. I found the fix on Youtube (channel: Jalapeno).
