It's best to keep both versions of GTA V in your steamapps/common folder. Just always know the one you have named "Grand Theft Auto V" will be the one that both OpenIV and Steam will see. For me I know this way it's 100% safe from the ban hammer, and it's the way I've done it for years and I personally can afford the 140+ gigs on the HD.
