4 天之前 · GUBA is the mascot of the men's athletic teams, the Golden Bears. GUBA debuted in the early seventies and was created by Chuck Moser, who at the time was the assistant athletic director. Moser came up with the idea for a school mascot while visiting Hawaii.

6 天之前 · Patches is the mascot of the women's athletic teams, the Pandas. While GUBA had been on the scene for many years pumping up crowds, it felt like something was missing all these years. During the 1990s a new bear showed up on campus named Patches, who wanted to show her support and fandom for the Pandas athletic teams.
