Gudon is a kaiju that has appeared as a supporting antagonist in the Ultraman franchise, first appearing in episodes 5 and 6 of Return of Ultraman. Long ago, the Gudon species was the predator of the Twin Tail species. In the present day, a Gudon emerged after MAT unearthed a Twin Tail egg to do battle with its ancient rival once more.

Gudon appeared before the MAT Gyro that came to investigate tremors occurring at the No 2 quarry on the Tama River, but retreated underground after the MAT Gyro attacked. It then caused an earthquake near a farm. This revealed the egg of Twintail, the Ancient Monster.

Kaiju are monstrous creatures that come in different sizes and shapes. All of them have different features, some more humanoid than others. Every kaiju possess a Core (核, Kaku), which is their vital organ and weakness, inside their body, and since every kaiju comes in a different type the location of the core changes accordingly.
