GUE’s DPV Level 1 course is designed to introduce divers to the skills and knowledge required to safely use Underwater Propulsion Vehicles (DPV) in open water environments.

GUE cave divers are known worldwide for their successful use of DPV’s during long range exploration cave dives. As an advanced cave diving course, the DPV Cave course is available to experienced GUE Cave 2 divers with prior experience in use of a DPV. In the DPV Cave class, all scooter-specific skills are practiced to mastery level.

GUE’s Diver Propulsion Vehicle (DPV) Cave course is designed to cultivate mastery-level skill in the use of underwater propulsion vehicles in the cave environment. Other course outcomes include: reinforcing the outcomes of GUE’s DPV Level 1, managing the ramifications of using multiple DPVs and stage bottles, and environment-specific applications.

This course is designed to teach experienced stage cave divers how to utilize Diver Propulsion Vehicles (DPVs) in the cave environment. Over a minimum of 4 days, divers will learn about safe DPV use, DPV components, and care and maintenance.

2023年9月15日 · - What do you learn in the GUE DPV class? What topics are covered? The bulk of the class is about stress management as with all GUE classes. A DPV makes a lot of things more difficult. What we learned was: dive planning incl. gas, setup of the DPV, maneuvering, buoyancy management, towing and air sharing, team formation, etc.

In this course you will learn how to safely operate diver propulsion vehicles (DPV) and plan dives using your “scooter”. DPV diving brings multiple advantages to divers including the ability to relax behind the wheel while someone else does the work!
