GWH's P-61 arrives well presented in a very solid top opening box with all the sprues bagged separately, and the clear parts receiving additional protection – the main clear sprue is sealed in bubble-wrap, while the radar nose-cone is packed in its own clear plastic case to avoid damage to the pitot tube which is moulded in situ.

2011年11月4日 · Many modelers know Monogram’s 1/48 scale Northrop P-61 Black Widow — a kit with wide appeal that has been equally as famous for its difficulty. It’s been a long wait, but now Great Wall Hobby has released the first P-61 in this scale since Monogram first kitted the late-war night fighter in 1974.

Great Wall models of China has recently released their long awaited and hopefully corrected 1/48 P-61B Black Widow kit. Following on their flawed P-61A, Great Wall has taken steps to correct cowling and other general shape errors in hopes of releasing a better received kit.

Judging by the accompanying photograph, this must have been spectacular – although Bode still brought the machine down largely intact.
