IMR4895 vs H4895? | Sniper's Hide Forum
2022年1月4日 · Anyone shooting IMR4895, and how do you like it compared with H4895? I have a chance to pick up 6lbs for around $15/lb, and plan on loading behind 168s in my .308 and 75-77gr bullets in my .223. I have had good success with …
H4895 for a 308 - Sniper's Hide Forum
2012年6月14日 · H4895 is a great powder for a .308. I would rate Varget, H4895 and IMR 4064 as my top three choices. The H part of H4895 indicates that it is a extreme line series powder made by Hogdon. This means it is temp stable, a common complaint of RE15 powder. Work up a load, I have found good velocity with a accuracy.
H4895 vs. IMR 4895 - CMP Forums
I'm brand new to reloading and just getting components together. I'll be loading for just my M1 to start out with. I have decided to go with IMR 4895 as my first powder to try. I recently found H4895 for sale for about $10 cheaper per pound. Is there a big difference between the IMR and the Hodgdon 4895's? Getting excited to start reloading ...

2025年2月20日 · Regarding AR comp being a substitute for H4895, it wasn't for me. All my 223s and 223AIs love AR Comp for 40-55gr loads with excellent velocity and accuracy and it's my go to powder for the lighter bullets, but after testing I found AR comp was nowhere near as accurate as H4895 in any of them for the 69-80gr bullets.
H4895 vs IMR4895 - Cast Boolits
2013年2月17日 · H4895 meters better and more accurately as each stick is shorter and smaller in lenght than IMR4895. H4895 is also an "Extreme" powder and less temperature sensitive. Over the years I've found H4895 to very much less lot to lot. If buying new 4895 I buy H4895.
What Alliant powder is close to H4895 | Sniper's Hide Forum
2010年12月13日 · Re: What Alliant powder is close to H4895 RL15 works fine in the M1A. Its burn rate is similar to IMR 4064, which had been a go to powder for the heavier bullets (ie 180-190s) in the M1 and M1A for many decades when those guns were used in HP shooting.
H4895 vs. H4198 vs. RL-7 For .30-30 Loads? - Cast Boolits
2012年4月8日 · H4895, on the other hand, with it's small kernals of extruded powder meters extremely well and very, very accurately. H4895 is also a modern "Extreme" powder making it much less sensitive to temperature variations giving a much more consistent performance from winter to summer.
Anyone have a go-to load for 77 SMK and H4895? - Sniper's Hide
2008年12月4日 · The H4895 load is a little slower in warmer OATs though. But when I ran a quick check on both loads at -10F & +135F fired from an 18" 1x7.7 Krieger gas gun barrel, the H4895 load tested to be nearly immune to normal thermal variation I …
69 SMK and H4895 | Sniper's Hide Forum
2013年2月21日 · H4895 is a good bit faster than AA2520. 2520 is next to 4064. I have the H4895. I have seen a couple of people running the combo, but wanted some more data points. What I saw was 23.5 and 25.0 grains. OCW would say that 25.0 is two nodes higher than the 23.5. So those are actually consistent. Hodgdon says 24.0- 26.0 grains of H4895.
