The High Standard HDM is an American semi-automatic pistol equipped with an integral silencer. Based on the High Standard H-D pistol, it was adopted by the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) during World War II .

2018年7月25日 · The Hi-Standard HDM gun received a new barrel of increased length with perforations for dumping powder gases into the muffler. The new project used a rifled barrel with a .22 caliber (5,6 mm) and an 6,75 inch length (171 mm or 30,5 caliber).

The guns were code named ‘Impact Testing Machines’ and manufactured in complete secrecy. The HDM/S (see image #1) had a slide lock which prevented the gun from cycling and its action making a sound.
