We'll start with a specification of my present Quad (2 element). It covers six bands, 20m-10m on HF, and also 6m. It is a Boomless (spider quad, gem quad)design.

2-Element-DK7ZB-Quad for 5 Bands. 10-12-15-17-20 m (updated version 01/2010 see down) A description was in the German Ham-Magazine "Funkamateur" in Issue 11/2003. The picture shows the quad, built by DL1DTC. The Quad uses a single, central-fed frame with a feeder-line. Therefore you must use an ATU for operating this antenna.

In the end, I stayed with 2 elements, but got 5 bands in their MK-II-PT5 model. I opted for the continuous spreaders (standard one piece arms—-cubex) and pre-configuration of this over one of their less expensive Skymaster kits. I believe it was worth every extra penny.

2015年10月12日 · That said, the GB Quad is an obvious successor of the legendary US made "Lightning Bolt" Quad which is no longer available since quite some time. There are only some rather negligible differences as far as I can tell. A great solution are the wire holders as well as the aluminium alloy 1,6 mm wire.

My Quad covers eight bands at present, 30m through10m on HF, and also 6m, and the European 4m band. The original plan was for a five band Quad, but as the arms were longer than required for 20m, I used the extra length to accommodate an extra band. It is up to you to decide how many bands are appropriate for you.

Cubical quad adjustment likely Yagi is always the same issues and you need to find a compromise. With this adjustment i have a better side and Fwd/back attenuation but loose some gain (a bit too much). With just a tiny adjustment the setup will be more balanced. Finally got it for the 12m band, with a stub total length about 20cm in total .
