The Heckler & Koch PSG1 (Präzisionsschützengewehr, German for "precision marksman rifle") is a semi-automatic designated marksman rifle designed and produced by the German company Heckler & Koch. This rifle is said to have been developed in response to the Munich massacre at the 1972 Summer Olympics.

在2006年的时候HK公司推出了MSG90的改进型MSG90A1，主要的改进是增加了枪口消焰器和后备机械瞄具。 目前MSG90A1已经改进为MSG90A2，在官方网站上也只有MSG90A2销售，外观上完全相同，具体改进了些什么内容，我暂时不清楚。

HK MSG 90与HK PSG-1 所有的PSG-1步枪都没有机械瞄具，而是装备有照明分划板的Hensoldt 6×42瞄准镜，浮动重型枪管和可调节枪托。 PSG-1的枪托是由高密塑料制成，黑色粗糙表面，并且可以调向任何角度以适合所有使用者的需要。

2020年9月8日 · The MSG90 was developed as a cost effective alternative to the PSG-1, it has the same operating system and trigger. It features an adjustable stock, but not as fancy as the PSG-1 and it weighs 3 pounds less. The MSG90 makes a great designated marksman rifle (DMR), and in fact, the USMC evaluated 6 of them for their DMR contract.

The success of the base HK G3 Battle Rifle of 1959 naturally allowed the gun series to broaden itself and fulfill a variety of battlefield roles.

The weapon is loaded with a 7.62x51mm NATO magazine and can be fired from a 5, 10 or 20 round detachable magazine at a range of 2,600 feet. Action is a Hong Kong standard roller-delayed breech system with semi-automatic fire support - making the MSG-90 more akin to a modern Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR) than a traditional bolt action type.
