The Heckler & Koch SMG II was a prototype submachine gun intended as a successor to the MP5. It came with a selector which would change the velocity of the rounds fired, so that a suppressor attached to it could effectively muffle the sound of the otherwise supersonic 9x19 parabellum round.

2016年9月20日 · The SMG II is an improved version of the original SMG, with several added features. Instead of using an MP5 magazine, the SMG II uses a new pattern of polymer magazine. The HK21-type sight was replaced with a more classic HK drum sight, and the butt of the stock became a new, smaller sheet metal piece.

2023年8月13日 · Submachine gun chambered for 9x19 mm. It was designed as a replacement for the MP5, but it didn’t work out :/. The first version had a rather complicated sight that could be adjusted for subsonic ammunition. The second version returned the standard sight, but added a powder gas regulator (people really wanted it to be silent).
