2018年7月31日 · I have an HP 4156A 'Precision Semiconductor Parameter Analyser' which works OK, but a) the CRT is dim, and b) its internal battery (?) doesn't seem to work, so all settings have to be entered (e.g. date, CRT brightness settings etc.) when it boots.

Results can be displayed on a built-in CRT or may be read back through the control port. The figure below is a block diagram of the machine connected to a bipolar transistor and to a PC for control. You set the SMUs so that they put the necessary voltages across and currents through the transistor to measure the device I-V properties.

2020年1月16日 · It is a pretty nice piece of kit since its basicaly a 4 channel SMU that goes up to +/- 100V or +/- 100mA and can measure currents down into picoamps and having nice graphing capability to it. It can be useful for testing or matching transistors and such, or can be used as a regular SMU to provide power or measure small currents.
