Time Owned: 6 to 12 months. This is a good reliable signal source, has an LED display and a CRANK on the front, and only goes to 110 MHz but it has a respectable output range, is very stable, and is very quiet - my 3314A puts a little "hash" in the background, but this is dead quiet other than its signal.

In excellent shape, better than expected, including original box and cables, fast shipping, honest seller. No problem reformatting and using as a Time Machine back up on a 2019 iMac.

2012年6月16日 · For those of you who haven't yet gotten a chance to venture into an 8601A, the output hybrid is a little gold can as shown below. The one I reverse-engineered is marked 5086-7112, but the part was also sold under the part numbers 5086-3012 and 1820-0150.

A HP Manual was downloaded from the Web. The serial number is much later than the downloaded HP Manual so several assemblies are different.

2018年6月17日 · Luckily, the output hybrid chip is alive and well, and now it produces full power, the legs of the chip needed cleaning. (The switch that gives the extra power to the video chip in the +20dBm mode needs a bit of cleaning though.) The attenuator is a different story. Some of the resistors in there got "heat treated".
