In my case HR values are quite similar between %LTHR zones and %HRR zones, 1-3 beats max diff on each zone. But the zones based on maxHR are way off compared to the other two methods, they are around 20 beats lower except for 90% in which there is 5 beats difference.
Heart Rate Zones: A lot Questions & Confusion + Display HR …
- For HR Reserve I would expect lower percentages for the same zone setup, because you start at your resting heart rate (0%), so all percentages (except 100%) denote higher absolute HR compared to Max HR percentages. - For training plans, …
HR zones for training - Garmin Forums
Hello, In Garmin you can set your heart rate zones using Maximum Heart Rate (MHR) or Heart Rate Reserve (HRR). Default percentages are based on MHR but they look more suitable for HRR. Click on the link, set your MHR and Resting Heart Rate (RHR) and check differences of beats between MHR and HRR modes with Garmin default percentages.
I've changed HR zones on connect but not changing on display in …
2024年8月11日 · I have a Forerunner 965 and I changed the HR zones by choosing based on BPM and entered default zones from my recent vo2 max test. Training with the HR zones - Forerunner 935 - Garmin Forums
Zone 3 is essentially upper-aerobic which is above the Lactate Turn-point but below the Lactate Threshold. I spent approx. 40-50% of my time running in this zone for my London Marathon Training (Zones measured via an actually blood lactate test) and ran a 2:50, running 75%-ish of the marathon in this zone.

The HR Zone Gauge data screen is defective, and does not use custom HR zones for the activity type in question even if they have been set up. The HR Zone data field works fine in terms of correctly using the custom HR zones set up. I mean that Garmin doesn't seem to be using my running HR zones and instead uses the secondary zones.

hr zones recording incorrectly - Forerunner 965 - Garmin Forums
2024年8月27日 · OP said that the time in zones in the activity (given the zone 3 range, also recorded in the activity) is inconsistent with the average HR, also in the activity. Given that all of those things are recorded in the activity file itself, I would expect them to all be consistent.
Change of HR zones in saved activity possible? - Garmin Forums
Given that the activity data is a historical record, and a user's maximum heart rate and thresholds for the various HR zones can change over time, it wouldn't make sense to allow Garmin Connect to apply new HR settings (possibly several weeks/months after a timed activity was captured) retrospectively and re-evaluate the Time in Zones information.
How do you view your heart rate zones in Garmin Connect?
More or less I agree, at least as far as the user understands how it works. Unfortunately, people when they see for example that they set the Max HR based Z5 to 163-170 bpm, and the HR Zone at their next activity shows Z5 at 170-189, because their Max HR changed, they tend to call the Support and complain that their watch malfunctions.
