The Greek frigate Psara (F-454) (Greek: Φ/Γ Ψαρά) is the third ship of the Greek Hydra -class frigates. It is based on the Blohm + Voss MEKO 200 frigate class and was built by Hellenic Shipyards Co. at Skaramangas as part of the programme.

Frigate “Psara” is a MEKO 200 Class frigate, designed by the German company HDV and built by the Hellenic Shipyards. She was commissioned on April 1998 and is the third of the four ships of this class (HS HYDRA- HS SPETSAI- HS SALAMIS). She is the fifth ship in the history of the Hellenic Navy bearing this name.

2024年7月9日 · After being warned by Dutch naval vessel HNLMS Karel Doorman, the Greek naval vessel HS Psara repelled a drone attack on a cargo ship by the Houthis on 7 July. In the attack, the Greek crew took down two drones. This happened while escorting and protecting a cargo ship through the Gulf of Aden as part of EU Operation Aspides.

2024年7月9日 · Hydra-class frigate HS Psara is deployed to the region to protect cargo shipping passing through the Gulf of Aden, working alongside Dutch naval personnel and vessels. Dutch Commander George Pastoor, who was on board the Greek ship during the incident, said: "This attack shows that it is still very unsafe for shipping in this region."

On July 7 2024 in the Gulf of Aden, HS PSARA, while providing close protection to a merchant vessel, engaged 4 UAVs which were posing a significant threat to the freedom of navigation. As a result, 2 UAVs were downed, while the rest of them changed their course.

The HS Psara (F-454), is the third ship of the Hydra-class frigates. It was delivered to the Hellenic Navy in 1998 as part of of the program which according to the contract signed between the Greek government and Blohm and Voss, the ships were sent to the Hellenic Shipyards to be assembled.
