2021年6月29日 · HSS strats are the perfect strat. I hate single coil bridge pickups, and I never use the bridge on my SSS strats. I recently got a 2019 Players Series HSS Strat in a trade and I absolutely love it. It splits the bridge so you don't lose that bright #2 position, but the bridge position is a huge improvement over a single coil bridge sound.

2016年8月23日 · Check out the strat at 2:14 and then listen to 5:06. Compariing crunch on both bridge buckers, The strat's JB/250K sounds real good compared to the Gibson's treble pickup/500K. I think that sunburst/JB strat is a damn good sounding guitar above! I kinda think a 250K/bucker/strat give it a rounder more Gibson kinda tone.

2014年4月1日 · A HSS Strat has always interested me but all the stuff about the humbucker not sounding good with 250k pots , but then the 2 single coils being too bright with 500k volume, and the humbucker being much louder than the other 2 pickups always put me off.

2017年9月22日 · I said HSS. Objectively, 5 pickup combinations is "more versatile" than 3, and two tones is "more versatile" as is a trem. If you have a tap on the HB, it's that much more versatile. So a "stock" Tele versus a HSS Strat with Trem - "stock" except for the fact it's a "Fat Strat" (HSS) - the Strat could "do more sounds and stuff".

2023年8月23日 · I have a DM tone zone in a fender players strat HSS that sounds incredible. I have DM SC pickups in that one as well - Steve Vai signature which are pretty hot for SC's so it balances well. That said - I rarely if ever use position 2 on a HSS strat. I also have two HSS Fender Strats that I left stock - players and players plus.

2017年6月27日 · I built up an HSS Strat pickguard and would have sworn that is what I'd prefer. I discovered earlier with Teles I like low output single coils with a pedal boost of some sort for gainier tones.. Same with the Strat I guess. I've always had a Clapton at the house and this is the first conventional Strat in a while.
