With the coming of privatisation to Britain's railways, new wagon types have been introduced by EWS (HTA), GB Railfreight (HYA), Freightliner Heavy Haul (HHA and HXA) and Jarvis Fastline (IIA).

These new wagons were known as 32 AB HOP and latterly TOPS codes followed, with the standard 45 mph when loaded wagon, being coded HAA. These iconic wagons saw continued service from the 1960s right up until withdrawal in 2009.

2022年1月7日 · The most numerous air braked wagon on BR have been the hopper mineral wagons introduced in 1964. They were designed to work in continous rakes from the collieries to the power stations and not to be remarshalled and unloading required specialist equipment to operate the bottom hopper doors.

At about the same time, a number of HAA coal hoppers had been given new box bodies, and it was decided to convert some HEAs in the same way. A contract was awarded to RFS Industries to make and fit new bodies to 46 HEAs in late 1989.

The first versions of Accurascale’s new HAAs arrived in April 2022 with subsequent releases covering the CDA china clay hopper and MHA ‘Coalfish’ – rebuilds using HAA chassis to create spoil wagons. Now these have been joined the HBA, HDA and HMA variants which are on our review desk for inspection.
