2022年11月15日 · The highest I've seen someone new to a specific hagwon offered: 3.2+housing, 3.7 total, 2 weeks vacation. The highest monthly I've seen offered (no time restrictions): 4.5m/month. The highest starting hourly salary for full time work: 60,000 an hour. The highest starting hourly salary for part time work: 110,000 an hour.

There is a window the hagwon needs to hurry up with and it's the 6-9th month area to make the foreigners quit before they hang on too long and receive severance and return airfare at the end of their contract. If they quit, the hagwon will steal the rent deposit and final paycheck as "compensation for damages" and what-not.

2023年7月14日 · In all honesty, unless you have additional education background, like a masters, or teaching experience in your home country, hagwon experience counts but counts very little. A newbie fresh off the boat should ask for 2.7 and expect 2.5 ish. Someone with three years hagwon experience might get an extra 0.1 from that.

2023年9月25日 · Every hagwon is different. Teaching is always a busy job but fairly cushy hagwon jobs do exist. You have to decide if you're willing to risk potentially having a dreadful experience. I would always say go the hagwon route because EPIK pay is an absolute joke, but I have never experienced an awful hagwon so YMMV.

2023年4月4日 · Hagwon have vastly better opportunities for progression (at least good ones). You can get over 3 million from a hagwon if work hard and have ambition of find hagwon with such opportunities available. I know someone who raised their salary by 1 million won in a single year just finding the right employer and negotiating aggressively.
