I'm not all that familiar with it, though, so if you want a more informed opinion I would suggest heading over to r/teslore or to the UESP wiki (or TES wikia, I suppose), where you can read much more.

The "Hail Sithis" is supposed to hint that these guards are members of the brotherhood, which is what you would expect. A super secret cadre of assassins wouldn't be particularly effective unless they had agents in law enforcement. It's part of the vibe of the faction.

Passing a guard after becoming a member of the dark brotherhood, there's a random chance that the guard will say something along the lines of "Psst. Hey, I know who you are. Hail Sithis!" Anytime I notice a guard say this to me, I try to eliminate them. Can't have my cover blown. Ironically always happens when Lydia is my companion.

2017年3月27日 · Haha I was so confused when it happened I was just walking through the docks of solitude and a guard goes "psst I know you, hail sithis" and so I was like woah neat let's see what else this guy has to say and then yeah arrested for a contract from earlier.
