Just because Halo's a casual game doesn't mean balance gets thrown out the window and there's a very long history in the franchise of toning down broken weapons, and a lore accurate stanchion would be one of the most OP weapons in the franchise's history.

2019年3月28日 · Based on info from books like first strike, magnetic coils can fail, causing the MAC gun to be completely useless on a ship. When a sniper rifle jams, that can be cleared, even if needing disassembly. A stanchion would likely require a lab with magnetic fine tuning equipment, or replacement magnets/magnetic field generators.

In the same way that imperial Japan went from nicely-tooled and innovative rifles to handguns with visible machining scrape marks, the unsc goes from the stanchion and the nice Halo reach SRS99 sniper to the main series' basically-a-tube-on-some-rectangle-bits series 2 sniper rifle.

Let's be frank, when it comes to Halo it is always the same weapons, the MA5, the M6 pistol, and if we are lucky the SPNKr, and honestly although completely understandable, since most people are only familiar through the games, and from the rest most are only familiar with the first book or so.

Halo's Stanchion fires bullets at a velocity 10.5 times faster and has an effective range of nearly 7.5km. It is meant to punch through anything up to a solid 30cm of Titanium. The only reason it gets this fast is because it's basically a shoulder fired MAC sniper rifle. It's a Gauss canon for regular infantry. I wanna see Linda shoot this thing.
