2004年9月28日 · My uncle used to train in hapkido and I went to a class and trained with him quite a bit while he was still training in it. The emphasis seemed to be wrist locks, standing locks, and takedowns. He showed me some grappling (my first introduction to it btw) which his instructor got from BJJ and never claimed it was part of hapkido.

2008年1月31日 · We study Sung Moo Kwan or old school KHF. GM Kim is a ex student of Doju Ji Han Jae, and he has started World Doowon Hapkido Federation. Since 2000 I also study Kuk Sool Hapkido under GM Lim Tae Hyung, but since 2006 I belong by myself to World Kido Federation under Supreme GM Seo. So I practice two styles of Hapkido one forfiling the other.

2012年8月18日 · Hapkido as I'm learning it is largely self defense oriented. joint locks, grabs, throws, coupled with kicks and strikes are the arsenal of weapons we learn to employ in various ways. Some schools teach forms but they arent "kata" as you'd call it.

Hapkido was formulised by Choi Yong Sul in 1947 and is a Korean art. 2006年4月13日 · Aikido and Hapkido have the same base art taught to the founders of both arts by the same master,so the appearance of similarity is in fact because they are the same rooted arts. There are versions of Hapkido with a lot of kicks,there are versions with few kicks.

Outside of CH: Reality Based Self Defense ( which also use MMA, Pistol,knife,improvised weapons) WWII combatives,Commando Krav Maga(some Kapap/Lotar),Elements of PPCT,Japanese sword and weapons.
