The Heinkel He 162 Volksjäger (German, "People's Fighter") is a German single-engine, jet-powered fighter aircraft fielded by the Luftwaffe late in World War II. Developed under the Emergency Fighter Program, it was designed and built quickly and made primarily of wood as metals were in very short supply and prioritised for other aircraft.

Heinkel 162, W.Nr. 120077 originated at Heinkel North (Roststock-Marienehe) production line and was probably completed in April 1945. If this machine was painted according to surface protection list #8 -162 issued on January 9th 1945, cannot be 100% determined.

2016年3月23日 · In 2014 I was asked to to some He162 profiles for an exhibition in the Zeltweg Aviation Museum. So I decided to draw one profile to show the construction and materials that were used for the He 162. The wooden surfaces are for sure not in the right scale.
